Junin de Los Andes and the Chilean border

Finally got the chance to upload some photos so I'm not going to waste it by writing tedious amounts of words.

The drive from San Martin to the Chilean border was a good 2-3 hours of mostly paved roads. Although still part of the lake district, the terrain here is decidedly different.


 The volcano is located in the national park of Lanin. All this area is protected.
















Observe the large and perfectly formed Volcano, as seen behind Graham in this spectacular photo.


Here at the very edge of Lanin National Park is one of the few border crossings that is permanently open. On the other side is Chile. Doesn't he look like his request to enter the country has just been rejected and he has to go back to San Martin in a huff. It wasn't like this in fact, we had no intention of crossing the border because my iPhone charger was still in the hotel.
